Hermès commissioned me to create three animations for social media, working from a selection of products that I was invited to choose from their catalogue. I developed the imagery, visual storytelling and animation for each film, creating three individual pieces built around the selected products. For the versions shared on Instagram, the animations were paired with music from my own catalogue.
Commissioned by VanMoof for their global ‘Rethink the City: Reimagine the City’ campaign. Working from the campaign brief and script, I developed the visual world for the film, adapted the script, storyboarded the complete animation and created the keyframes for production. I then worked with Bewilder, who animated the finished film from my storyboards and keyframes.
All Better is my first animated short, a 2 minute 55 second film that I conceived, illustrated and animated, with original music composed and performed by me. The film premiered at Kinomural Festival in 2026, where it was projected onto the side of a building as part of the festival programme.
The Eames Institute commissioned me to make a ten-minute film exploring creativity and my own creative process. With an open brief, I developed the concept around my studio, the things I make there and why I make them. I wrote and performed the narration, shot and edited the film, and created the original music. The finished film, Circling the Brain, was published by the Eames Institute.
Foscarini approached me directly to create a series of animated films interpreting the brand through my own visual language. I selected products from their collection and researched the materials, design and history behind each one, using this as the starting point for the imagery and visual storytelling. I developed the concepts, storyboarded and animated the films.
Bugaboo commissioned me to create two animated films communicating different aspects of their environmental approach: the way they dye their fabrics, and their system of supplying replacement parts rather than replacing an entire product. Working from two supplied voiceovers, I developed the imagery and visual storytelling, storyboarded and animated both films.
I give talks about my work and creative practice at conferences including Us By Night, Forward Festival, Playgrounds and Pictoplasma. The talk develops over time, reflecting where I am in my career, the challenges I'm facing and the ways I try to work through them. Depending on the event, the talk runs from 30 minutes to an hour.
I finish each talk with a song I've written that allows the audience to say goodbye to me. The lyrics and responses are projected onto the screen behind me, turning the end of the talk into a call-and-response performance with the audience.
Invited by Treviso Comic Book Festival to create a solo exhibition, Big Sun brought together different parts of my practice in one space: paintings, drawings, film and a selection of objects and materials from the walls of my studio. The exhibition included Circling the Brain, my film for the Eames Institute, and coincided with the release of a 7-inch vinyl single featuring two songs I wrote for my daughter. I also commissioned a film documenting the opening night and created the music for it.
Following an earlier commission for Moog, I was invited back to create the visual world for the Mother-32 & DFAM bundle. I developed a large-format poster and fold-out instruction manual, alongside characters, illustrations and patterns that extended across the product packaging and a sheet of cut-out elements customers could use to customise the workspace around their synthesizer.
Moog commissioned me to create a fold-out catalogue and poster exploring what Moog means to me. I developed the poster as my own visual interpretation of the world surrounding Moog, then carried that visual language onto the reverse, where the product information and synthesizers were presented as part of the same illustrated world.
Jim Stoten's Skotchbook is a retrospective bringing together ten years of my sketchbooks, published by Unseen Sketchbooks. The book has an eight-colour screen-printed cover and comes with a three-colour risograph print, screen-printed bookmark, cigarette card with hand-drawn elements, A5 postcard and a booklet featuring a foreword by illustrator Jasper Goodall and an interview with Noel Fielding.
Lights is an album I made in my studio in 2019 as an experiment in recording with a four-track tape machine, using musical instruments, toys and found sounds to build the songs as sound collages. I wrote, performed and produced the album, which was released on vinyl by Dirty Melody Records on 10 July 2020. I also created the artwork for the gatefold record and made a music video for one of the songs.
22 is an album I wrote, performed, recorded and produced, released on vinyl by Dirty Melody Records on 3 May 2024. I created the artwork for the record, along with three animated GIFs and an animated promo for the release. I also directed the video for We Will!, shot and animated by Tim Booth. The video for Donald Duck was conceived, shot, directed and edited by Matt Kebbell, and Bombardino was shot and directed by Nina Fuga and edited by me.
Posterzine is a monthly publication by People of Print, with each issue dedicated to the work of a single artist. I was invited to create the December 2020 issue, which unfolded into a large-format poster on one side, with editorial material about my work and an interview on the reverse. The issue also came with a five-colour risograph print and a foil-blocked print taken from my sketchbook.
On a Flying Frog is an album of eight songs I wrote and recorded in 2015, released as a physical collection of eight colour risograph prints — one image for each song. The set included a code linking to the album on Bandcamp, bringing the music and artwork together as a single project. The prints were produced and released by Tan & Loose Press.
